Render Away From Caesar

Are you primarily a citizen or a consumer?
This summer, the government promises most Americans a $600 tax rebate check in hopes of stimulating the economy. Take this opportunity to write your own version of the national budget. Buying more stuff that you don't need, manufactured who knows where is not the answer. Give your tax rebate dollars to just, grassroots organizers making a real difference. Read below for suggestions on where to put your money, or add your own. Check back often for new ideas, and to see where citizens, like your self, would allocate public funds. Make a choice. Make a difference.

Why, man, he doth bestride the narrow world
Like a Colossus; and we petty men
Walk under his huge legs, and peep about
To find ourselves dishonourable graves.
Men at some time are masters of their fates:
The fault, dear Brutus, is not in our stars,
But in ourselves, that we are underlings.
William Shakespeare

Whose economy is being stimulated?

Compelled by our nation's economic divide and the mandates of our faith, members of our congregation are challenging themselves and you to give all or part or more than your anticipated tax rebates to organizations that foster justice.

Shopping is an inappropriate response to trauma.
